Vacuum Metallizing
( V.M. ) is a process in which a simulated chrome finish is applied to
a non porous substrate such as plastic. This is done under vacuum by evaporating
extremely thin layer of aluminium onto the surface of a product required
to be coated. This method can virtually bond to almost any surface resulting
in gleaming product visually indistinguishable from an electro-plated
product. One distinct advantage between V.M and electro-plated product
is that, the former allows laser etching on the metallized surface but
not the latter.
